Duck, duck, goose...

We made it to UTAH!!! Our road trip across the country wasn't nearly as bad as we had imagined! Sam was such a good boy, considering he was strapped in his car seat for about 25 hours. It's been so much fun to be here this week and enjoy family! It will be fun to spend the WHOLE summer here. We're so lucky!
So, we have a duck and a goose living with us this summer...random, I know! You'll have to ask Kelsey for details about that.... Anyway, Sam played with them both out in the garden today with Grandma. He is so interested in them and loves to follow them around. He isn't at all afraid of them and even lets them nibble at his bare toes! You gotta love summer and bare feet, don't ya?!

TORNADO...well, almost!

Well, on Tuesday we experienced our first tornado warning since we've been here! Holy Cow!! I didn't like it one bit! It got pretty windy and stormy here...big hail and tons of rain. The city sounded the tornado sirens, which I learned mean "TAKE COVER NOW!" Eric was at school and called saying they were taking all of the students to the basement for cover and that he probably wouldn't get reception on his phone for awhile so he couldn't call me until after the warning was over. WHAT?! I was home alone with Sam and being a native Utahn I wasn't quite sure what to do. The news said that the bath tub was a safe place to be during a tornado, if you don't have a basement....so Sam and I grabbed some blankets and pillows and jumped in the tub with our 72-hour kit! Sam was loving it, since bath time is his favorite. He just couldn't quite figure out why I wouldn't turn the water on! :) Anyway, the tornadoes never touched down in Toledo, thank goodness!!!! And being the safety kid that I am, I can say that I definitely overreacted. But better safe than sorry, right?!?
