Impulse shopping

Since I entered the world of motherhood, Petsmart has become a store I frequent. Sam absolutely loves to wander in there and stare at all of the fish, birds, snakes, and mice...all of which kind of make me shudder! It's warmer than wandering the zoo in January and also quite a cheap alternative. Anyway, on Wednesday night we made one of these frequent Petsmart stops. We walked up and down each aisle practicing our animals noises and pointing at everything. Then we came upon a tank of teeny tiny goldfish. A sign was attached to the tank reading "12 cents each, take some home today." Hmmm...12 cents, now that was something I could afford. I don't know what came over me, but I grabbed an employee, asked for 3 of the cheapo fish and then asked him to point me towards the fish food. I heeded the sign's advice, and we are now the proud owners of 3 goldfish: Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Sam couldn't be happier, but I'm not so sure about the fish...

N-U-R-S-E-R-Y-!

This post is dedicated to the person who was inspired with the idea of nursery...it is truly heaven sent!!! Today marks the point when Eric and I again get to become active members of the church, as Sam attended the full 2 hour block of nursery!! WHOOOOOPEEEE!! Sam loves it, we love it, and now there's no turning back!!

President Hinckley

What a great man he was! We love him and will miss him!

Tell me it isn't so!!!!

The past 3 days...count them, 1, 2, 3 days....Sam has not wanted to take a nap! I'll lay him in his bed, walk out of his room, and then listen to him babble to himself for an hour and a half. What on earth has happened to my amazing napping baby! I am terribly afraid that the Sam who used to nap for 3 hours every afternoon is gone. I'm scared that my precious time to take a shower and comb my hair uninterrupted is now extinct! Is my Sam now past his napping prime?? Tell me it isn't so!

I guess I should be thankful that he doesn't cry, scream, whine, fuss, or moan when I put him down for a nap, but he does NOT sleep! This has made the hours from 5-6 pm much more difficult as I am now dealing with an extremely grumpy 17 month old! What is a mom to do??

mEdiCiNe BaLL!!

We got to relive some of our high school days last night by getting dressed up and going to a dance!! Eric's school holds an annual Medicine Ball and we (well actually I) decided that we needed to go this year. We really had so much fun! Eric even got out on the dance floor with his crutches and busted out some great moves! There are so many fun people in Eric's class and in our ward that we got to be with! It was a great night, and I'm already looking forward to next year!

Wild and Crazy Birthday Fun!

We were real party animals for my birthday on Monday! First, I pushed Sam and Eric around in this inconspicuous wheel chair while shopping at the mall. Then we got dinner.......To Go! I wasn't up for taking care of both Eric and Sam at a restaurant.
And finally, Eric put in some good time with his new girlfriend, CPM. Looks like fun!! :)

All kidding aside, it was a good, fun day!

Goofy

Eric and I saw a great show tonight at the Stranahan Theater...we got to see the comedian Brian Regan perform. It was so much fun! Eric surprised me with tickets as an early birthday present and I loved it! Brian Regan is just a goofy, awkward, nerdy guy; but he sure made us laugh!
Due to Eric's gimpy leg we got some special treatment from all of the 80 year-old ushers who volunteer at the Stranahan. Here's how all the normal people had to sit and watch the show...

But not us! We got our own little corner and special chairs! SWEET!

ACL

Yesterday, Eric had surgery to repair his torn ACL, and luckily tonight he is still drugged up enough to not care about these SEXY pictures I'm posting on our blog! He's also acting amazingly positive about everything despite the fact that he will now use crutches for the next 6 weeks...this positive attitude may also be due to the pain killers he's taking!

Catching Up!!

It's hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone! It's even harder to believe that it is already 2008!

The past few weeks have been crazy, but absolutely wonderful! After some horrible winter weather and some travel moments we'd like to forget (i.e. sitting in a stuffy airplane on the runway for 2.5 hours without going anywhere...yuck!!) we spent some great quality time with family and loved every second of it!

We had a fun trip to Mexico with the Dockter clan, and then enjoyed some rest and relaxation in St. George and Salt Lake City with the Morgans. It was so fun to be home with so many people that we love. Here are a few picture highlights from our Christmas break...

I had to include these next pictures because they are so hilarious! Sam is the only grandSON on the Dockter side....and all of his little girl cousins just love him! These pictures are proof!
