Bad Habit...

From day one, I've been worried about Sam's "thumb-sucking/neck-pinching" habit. It seems that he's doing this bad habit in nearly every picture I have of him...and these pictures today are no different!!! However, I am grateful he had that little thumb and neck of his handy today when he took a bad tumble at the library.

You see that goose egg on his forehead....yeah I know, it is HUGE!! And thankfully he had that little thumb to rely on all the way home!! I think this bad habit has saved me from many, many tears, screaming sessions, and whining. Maybe it's not so bad after all?!?!

FOUR YEARS!

It's hard to believe that Eric and I have been married 4 years now! We've come a long way...from our dating days in good old Provo, to finishing up our BYU studies as married students, to moving to Ohio and having our sweet Sam within days of each other (we're working on our planning skills!), to learning how to do this medical school thing together. And now for our next big adventure...

Baby #2...due early November 2008!

I love life with Eric and can't wait for the years to come! Happy anniversary!

Choir Tour!

When I heard that my youngest sis, Ally, and my mom were only going to be 4 hours away in Chicago, I jumped at the chance to see them! So, last weekend Sam and I (along with my great neighbor and her baby) invited ourselves to be part of Skyline High's choir tour. We stayed at the same hotel as the 200 high school students, caught a ride downtown on their tour bus a few times, and even had to play the role of chaperone one night! Good times.

Although we were only there from Thursday-Saturday we crammed as much as possible into every second, and we had an absolute blast! We were able to see "Wicked" on Thursday night. My sweet mom gave her ticket to me and opted instead to be the desginated babysitter for the night! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED "Wicked!" It was so amazing. I would definitely recommend it.

Friday was great because one of my best friends ever drove down from Milwaukee to spend the day with us! Ashley and I go all the way back to Churchill Jr. High, and we seemed to pick up right where we left off! It was WONDERFUL to see her! We hit up the Field Museum. Sam wasn't too into the exhibits. In fact, all he wanted to do was push his stroller around which drove me crazy because I was constantly worried about him tipping things over or ramming into the backs of unsuspecting strangers! It was a neat place though. We also spent some time at Navy Pier. I'm afraid the highlight of this Windy City destination was the miniature Thomas the Tank Engine that Sam got to ride on! He was in absolute heaven...probably the best $2 I've spent in a long time.
Saturday was spent shopping the Magnifcent Mile...which was spectacular and would have been even more amazing if I had hundreds...no thousands!... of dollars to spend! :) We braved the city buses and trains on Saturday as well. (Sam was in heaven again!) We were able to go to Wrigley Field and see the Cubs play. We miraculously got FREE tickets to the game and a FREE train ride there. I attribute all of our amazing luck to Leisy...who I'll let tell the amazing story herself. It was a great day!

The worst part though, was saying good bye to my mom and Ally at Wrigley Field. I felt terrible leaving my mom standing there in tears as I took her only grandchild with me! Why does Toledo have to be SO far from SLC???
Thank you so much Mom (DAD!)and Ally! It was so much fun seeing you guys! I can't wait until June!

Hop on Pop!

This has become Sam's favorite book, but he'll only read it with Eric! He's close to getting the whole thing memorized! Eric and I think that this age is the BEST! Sam is talking so much and is really turning into a little boy. I love it!

Happy 27th!

Untitled from docktercrew on Vimeo.

Yesterday Eric celebrated the big 2-7!! We partied with dinner featuring "Eric's Birthday Ribs", cooked by your's truly. They were pretty darn good...if I do say so myself. Sam loved singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY and has been singing it ALL day!
