So, last weekend Sam and I (along with my great neighbor and her baby) invited ourselves to be part of Skyline High's choir tour. We stayed at the same hotel as the 200 high school students, caught a ride downtown on their tour bus a few times, and even had to play the role of chaperone one night! Good times.
Although we were only there from Thursday-Saturday we crammed as much as possible into every second, and we had an absolute blast! We were able to see "Wicked" on Thursday night.
My sweet mom gave her ticket to me and opted instead to be the desginated babysitter for the night! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED "Wicked!" It was so amazing. I would definitely recommend it.Friday was great because one of my best friends ever drove down from Milwaukee to spend the day with us! Ashley and I go all the way back to Churchill Jr. High, and we seemed to pick up right where we left off! It was WONDERFUL to see her!
We hit up the Field Museum. Sam wasn't too into the exhibits. In fact, all he wanted to do was push his stroller around which drove me crazy because I was constantly worried about him tipping things over or ramming into the backs of unsuspecting strangers!

It was a neat place though. We also spent some time at Navy Pier. I'm afraid the highlight of this Windy City destination was the miniature Thomas the Tank Engine that Sam got to ride on! He was in absolute heaven...probably the best $2 I've spent in a long time.
Saturday was spent shopping the Magnifcent Mile...which was spectacular and would have been even more amazing if I had hundreds...no thousands!... of dollars to spend! :) We braved the city buses and trains on Saturday as well. (Sam was in heaven again!) We were able to go to Wrigley Field and see the Cubs play.
We miraculously got FREE tickets to the game and a FREE train ride there. I attribute all of our amazing luck to Leisy...who I'll let tell the amazing story herself. It was a great day!

The worst part though, was saying good bye to my mom and Ally at Wrigley Field. I felt terrible leaving my mom standing there in tears as I took her only grandchild with me! Why does Toledo have to be SO far from SLC???
Thank you so much Mom (DAD!)and Ally! It was so much fun seeing you guys! I can't wait until June!

What a fun trip! And even though your mom was sad when you left, I bet she was so happy for the three days she got to spend with you and Sam.
Cynthia is right!!!...it was a blast! It was actually the HIGHLIGHT of the entire trip! (next to 5 hours at the Field Museum!?!) Leisy and Zeb are darling! What good little boys you both have! Pretty cute little moms, too! It was so good to see Ashley! I love that girl! Thanks for making the effort to come up! Sam has changed a lot since I saw him in March...he won't stop talking!!! I love you guys! xo
Yay for choir tour! My family just came to visit for the same reason. When are you guys going to be in Utah next? I think the Noah and Sam need to play!
Hi, I love your blog and your pictures are always so darling. I am so happy that you were able to see your mom and Ally in Chicago. It sounds like you had such a good time. I remember saying goodbye to my mom when we left Yellowstone Park, many years ago. Boo. Hoo. I love you. Grandma VERDA
