Halloween!

Halloween 2010 was a success.  On Friday, my superheroes were in heaven collecting candy, taking hayrides, and eating donuts at the ward trunk-or-treat.  It was a chilly, fun night!

With the SF Giants in the World Series, Eric and I couldn't resist wearing our gear to the party.  We were impressed with how many Giants fans we came across.  Fear the beard!!  Go Giants!

We were surprised to learn that our city of Avon changed trick-or-treating to Saturday instead of Sunday.  This made our weekend nearly perfect!  Eric had the day off and was able to take the boys trick-or-treating around our neighborhood.  The boys were feeling under the weather all day, but thankfully they were able to muster enough energy to knock on a few doors and get some more candy.
Sam and Max loved passing out candy, too.  Sam was sure to comment on each kid's costume and liked the responsibility of answering the door.  Made our job easy!

The boys have hardly let their Halloween loot out of their sight.  Sam has carried his around his neck all day.

And Max just drags his where ever he goes.

And it's not Halloween unless Eric does some pumpkin carving.  He loves it.  Here are the 2010 Dockter Jack-O-Laterns.

What a fun weekend.

Next up...Thanksgiving!!

Sam today...

Sam was thrilled today when I told him we were going to meet Eric at the hospital for dinner.

"I'm so excited to see Daddy's office!  Oh, I wonder what it will look like.  What will it be like, Mom?"

I guess in Sam's mind every dad who goes to work has an office.  I was worried he'd be disappointed when we got to the hospital and he realized his dad, well, doesn't.

But I was wrong.

"So, Daddy's office is the whole hospital?  That's a big office."

Was he disappointed?  Not one bit.

Eric even showed him the special room where they keep prison inmates.  Sam was in awe.

"There's real people in the prison?!  Real people?!  Right now?!"

Dinner at Wishard Eric's office was a hit.

Windy in Indy

Things have been a bit blustery here today.

Trees are broken and scattered all over our neighborhood...along with the occasional trampoline

and boat.

Don't ask me how, but all of our trees survived.

These midwest storms can be unreal!

Here's to...

Fallen leaves and autumn colors.

 Rowdy boys and giggling brothers.

Crisp air and time outside.

Post-call days and sweatshirt weather.

Sugar cookies and sprinkles from Grandma Verda.

Mess making and thoughtful big brothers.

Chocolate frosting and adoring baby brothers.

 Blue skies and Halloween candy.

I love this time of year.
Here's to FALL!

We had a reunion of sorts this weekend and it was wonderful!

We lived right across the hall from the Miller family for 3 years (whoa!) and they came to Indy for a quick trip.  Leisy's friend, Hillarie, came too and she was so fun to have around.

Add the Curtis family, who lived just across the street for another 3 years, and you've got yourself quite a Heather Hills reunion.

The little boys were in heaven together!  They played like angels and only cried when it was time to say goodbye.  Sam and Zeb slept on the bunk beds and kept each other up until midnight!  They were giggling and laughing about Tinkerbell and who knows what else.

We're getting pretty good at seeing the sights that Indy has to offer.  We walked the canal district, ate pizza near the circle monument, and then rode the elevator the top.

The elevator was tiny, tiny, tiny.  I can't believe we crammed ourselves in there together.  The top wasn't much more spacious than the elevator itself.  Can you say claustrophobia?!  The view from the top was beautiful and the blue sky was unreal; but in all honesty I wanted out!   I think that was a one time thing for me!

And here's the best picture I could get from the dads.  When I asked them to pose for a picture with their cool double strollers, you would have thought I asked them to wax their legs and eat dirt. They were less than excited to smile for me.

It was so great to see old friends.  Thanks for coming, Millers!  We loved it!

Sam was so sad to see friends go!  He was quick to ask, "So, who's coming next?"
I'm wondering the same thing.  Anyone else up for a trip to Indy?
