Picture Perfect

Seaside, Florida is about as picture perfect as it gets.  We spent a windy, foggy afternoon there today, but it was worth it.
It was beautiful.  The homes there are amazing.  All unique, perfectly beachy, and immaculate.  Brick roads, quaint shops, and a perfect beach.  We all loved it.

We want to go back someday and stay here...

I don't know about you but I'm feeling 32...

Happy 32 to Eric!

I can't think of a better way to spend a birthday than on vacation.  Eric works so hard, today was just the break he needed.  We swam, he golfed, we ate dinner at a local taco truck, Sam did some awesome dancing (which will not be forgotten anytime soon), and then had cheesecake to celebrate 32 years of Eric.

Happy birthday to my favorite person.

Ever heard of a party barge?
Yeah, we totally rented one for the day.
Okay, it was really a pontoon, but doesn't party barge sound more fun?

Today was great.

We saw dolphins.  Dolphins!  Pretty sure my famous dolphin call brought them swimmin' within arms reach of our boat.

We cruised over to Shell Island.  Beautiful beach and we were the only ones there.
I laughed at Eric and Cody carrying/dragging our gear across the beach.  We had so. much. stuff.

The waves were actually pretty big so we did a little boogie boarding.  Even Jake tried it out.  He didn't like it.

The boys had races on the beach.
Eric and I were reminded again of how we need to work on losing gracefully at home...

Oh, I can't forget to mention how we almost sunk the party barge.
Yep, true story.
The water got pretty rough towards the end of the day.  There were big swells, and Nikell and I were feeling a little nervous.  A big wave crashed right over the front of our boat and the front end went underwater.  Really, under the water.  I thought the boys were going to get throw off the front and then we'd sink.  But thank goodness, the only casualty was a flip flop.  Phew.

Eric and I went out on a date tonight.  We giggled through dinner because we were the youngest people in the restaurant by about 30 years.  It seemed like we were dining at Del Boca Vista.  We had a great view of about 50 elderly men playing in a poker tournament next door.  It was awesome.  We wandered around Pier Park and then saw a movie.  Perfect night.

What started out as a little walk on the beach, turned into a morning of golf carts.  We just couldn't resist.

With 6 little boys in tow, we got comments and looks wherever we went.

"Where are your sisters?!"

"You have all boys?  Bless your hearts!"

I think people could hear us coming from a mile away.

I about had a heart attack in this parking lot today.  Sam and Max were nearly hit by a truck as they ducked between cars and made a run for the golf cart across the lot.  Thank goodness the driver was quick to slam on his brakes and skidded to stop just in time.  It could have been so horrible.  I am thankful my boys are safe.

The pool has been a huge hit.  It is heated and oh so much warmer than the ocean.

We decided date nights were a must this week, so Eric and I took a turn watching the kids tonight so Cody and Nikell could go out.  We took the boys to the beach and let them play while the sun set.  They had so much fun.

I think the ocean is the perfect playground for kids.
Tonight was a gorgeous.
