What's new?

In all honesty, not too much! But here's the rundown.

Max seems to be experiencing the biggest life changes these days. He can now do this:

No steps yet, but I think they're coming soon! He's also sprouted a tooth. Just one...if you squint really hard you can see it.He's everywhere and into everything! Emptying cupboards, tearing apart bookshelves, and destroying train tracks and lego creations designed by his older brother.

Sam continues to talk and talk. His favorite phrase of the week: "I'm a way good HOOKER." Referring to his new found ability to hook his trains together all by himself. What did you think he meant?!

He's also teaching us patience while testing the limits again and again.

And as for us...

Eric's gearing up for part 2 of Step 2 this week. That about sums up his life right now.

And me...I'm getting ready for the craziness that the next few months will bring. Some of which will include hopping from Utah to North Carolina to Iowa, being husbandless for a few weeks at a time, and staying with family for a month!

Life is good!

Problem solved.

Eric pulled out his inner handyman while we were away in Utah, and concocted these little beauties for Sam:

Their purpose? Leg lengthening. And they seem to do just the trick. Sam can now reach the pedals on his tricycle and has been riding around like crazy. This once repulsive birthday gift, has now become his favorite pastime. Aren't dads the best?

And what bike ride would be complete without getting one of these?
We can't forget Max. He wanted in on the action too.

Back to reality.

We made it home! And let's just say that I couldn't have survived the flights home without Eric by my side. Things didn't go quite as smoothly as when I flew solo. I'm positive I would have had a major breakdown had Eric not been there to help! But we made it! Phew.

Anyway, our trip to Utah was wonderful! We did a lot in a week and half. Here are some highlights:

1- Sam became one of Ally's swimming students! He loved every minute of it. I was surprised how brave he became in just a couple of days.
2- We were able to go down to St. George! I love it there...even the 100 degree heat in the summer.3- Sam saw JACK!4- The entire Dockter fam was able to get together...well, almost...we missed Eric terribly! He had to be the responsible one and stay home for school. Sam was in heaven though running wild with ALL of his cousins!5- We celebrated Grandpa Ed's 80th birthday! The whole Morgan side of the family came to Utah to enjoy the birthday festivities! My grandpa has led such a great life and it was so great to be able to celebrate that together. We had an extremely busy, but extremely fun day of partying!

We love going 'home!'

smooth...

Well, we made it! I survived 2 flights and a layover all alone with the boys, and things went SO well! Seriously, I couldn't have asked for a better trip. Things weren't off to the best start, as Max screamed almost all the way to the airport. And then, when we arrived at good old DTW it was packed! There were all kinds of police cars outside and the line to get through security was INSANE! We were lucky enough to have a friend traveling the same day and time as us, so I had an extra pair of hands to help me get the kids through security! That was a huge perk. Then on the plane my boys were angels....complete angels!

Here's what they did the whole time:

Sam was content to watch Toy Story, twice! And Max just slept and slept! People probably thought that I drugged this sweet baby, but it must have been the rumble of plane or something that made him zonk during both of our flights!

I even got in a cat nap or two which was a huge shocker!! Thanks to Sam and Max for a great travel day! Keep it up guys!
