The boys

Sam this week:

-New favorite words to use at dinnertime are disgusting and horrible

-Claims that the Wii is the best thing in his life

-Has great faith, as illustrated by this little example:

E: Sam, come brush your teeth.

Sam: I can’t.  My arms are too tired.

E: If you’re arms are too tired then how are you going to play the Wii?

Sam: Jesus will give me power to do it!

-Has been extremely emotional...we're talking tears over just about everything...

-Can't get enough of running and jumping outside

Max this week:

-Became a nursery-goer at church...HIP HIP HOORAY!

-Has slept past 8 o'clock twice

-Screams and growls all the time just for fun...including during sacrament meeting

-Will eat anything, as long as he can dip it in ketchup

-Can't get enough of trying to keep up with his older brother outside

Twenty-nine.

Eric turned 29 yesterday!

After a beautiful morning at the park and some good naptime,

we ate his favorite dinner of ribs and mashed potatoes.
I had more than enough help in the kitchen this year.  Max and Sam were my official taste testers.

A couple of me and the birthday boy.  He just keeps getting better and better looking with age...

Not the most exciting birthday, but fun and relaxing nonetheless.

So, I have a confession to make, I'm not a very good gift giver.  Actually, I'm a terrible one.  I did surprise Eric with an afternoon date to the movies the day before his actual birthday, but I always feel like he gets the raw end of the deal.  He's much more thoughtful (and much less cheap) than me.  I'm a total tight wad and I'm afraid I always will be.  Sorry Eric.

We did purchase something recently though that made the cheap-o in me freak out...here she is...

It's not totally official yet, but we are thrilled!

Easter, Hoosiers, and Belly Laughs...

A few items of business:

1) Easter was wonderful!  Max had his little fists full of treats all day.  And Sam couldn't believe his eyes when he found a real kite in his Easter basket.

2) Come June we're officially going to become Hoosiers...not sure what that entails just yet, but we're ready.

3) Max loves to laugh (he also loves to scream right now, but let's not focus on that.)  When he gets the giggles it is so contagious.  We caught him in a really goofy mood last night and I couldn't stop taking pictures of him belly laughing.  Don't these make you smile?

Fresh air...

Every time we step outside Max takes off running...right for the swings.  I think he'd sit in this swing all day if he could.  He loves it.

The beautiful weather has made the world seem like a whole new place for Max.  He has to touch and explore everything.  This makes for constant skinned and scraped knees, and for about 3 or so outfit changes a day, but that's the life of a toddler.

Sam has also been trying out all kinds of things in this warmer weather.  His new favorite activity is swinging and roller skating at the same time.  I love it too because watching him try to get on the swing with his skates on is absolutely hilarious.

Max has really turned into Sam's little shadow lately.  There's Sam...there's Max.  When we're inside at home this can drive Sam crazy...but when we're outside, he loves it.  Sam loves to 'carry' Max around the playground, catch him when he goes down the slide, and teach him how to climb and jump.  Just another advantage to warmer weather, I guess.

And now we're finally entering my favorite time of year in Ohio...bring on the blossoms!
