Fly.

We are trying to get everything checked off of our "Ohio To Do List" before June sneaks up on us and the Buckeye State may no longer be home.  So, last Saturday we crossed off another item by venturing down to Dayton to visit the National Museum of the US Air Force.  It was a hit.  We visited the Presidential Gallery and walked through the planes of Presidents Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower.  We saw helicopters, stealth bombers, and amazingly HUGE airplanes.  We also thought a lot about Grandpa Leon and wished he could have told us some stories about those B-29's.

The boys loved the museum.  They giggled and giggled while we pushed them around in these little "wheelchair" strollers, and they couldn't get enough of running underneath and between the planes.
They had so many  hands-on things for the kids...which is great when you have a 3 year-old and a 1 year-old who want to touch EVERYTHING!   Eric and I had just as much fun and Sam and Max.

Notice the nose-picker in the background...lovely.
Sam, our little marine biologist, found some airplanes with striking similarities to some of his favorite ocean creatures.  Take a look.  What do you think?
Do you see the killer whale, narwhal, and great white?

We had a great time.  It's always a sign of a successful day when you get in the car and the kids immediately look like this...
Still on our to do list...Cedar Point!
Would you add any others?

Really?

Did you know...

that "bee"noculars come in handy while wandering the aisles at Lowe's, watching out the window for your dad to come home, and reading books before bed?  They also make a stylish accessory to dangle from your neck while just lounging around.  Oh, the uses are numberless!

Did you know...

that this little bug can eat a half dozen bananas before lunch?  He can also climb up onto the kitchen table, and has just recently mastered the art of putting objects in our toilets and garbage cans.  Oh, the curiosity of a 1 year old!

Did you know...

that in less than 4 months the joke of "Dr. Dockter" will actually become reality?  And that in just 29 days we'll know where our new home will be?  Oh, the suspense is killing me!

Warm.

Sometimes it just feels so good to have a snowy, snowy day. I love having an excuse to stay warm inside, clean out a few closets, eat Oreo after Oreo after Oreo, and wear my ugliest but most comfy sweatshirt all day long. Today was a good and very snowy day.

Yesterday the sky was so blue and beautiful that I had a hard time believing the weatherman when he said we’d be hit with a huge snowstorm today…but he was right. We’ve got a good six or so inches outside and it’s still coming down. Sam is just itching to get out and play in it...so hopefully tomorrow we’ll do just that.

We did get out yesterday and enjoy some sunshine though! We went to a park and found a frozen pond where kids were ice skating and playing hockey. It looked like something from a movie…just beautiful. We pretended to skate on the ice in our snow boots and Sam swore he saw fish swimming underneath us.

And I just had to include this last picture.  How in the world do kids fall asleep like this?

What do you get when you:

Plant your feet
Hunch your back
Sway your hips like there's no tomorrow
Twist your tongue and lips to the beat
Twiddle your fingers round and round
Bust out a few funky chicken moves
And throw in the occassional "Oh yeah?"

A miniature Jay Z in the making.

Thanks for the tunes, Alsta.  We dig 'em.

It's official.

February is my least favorite month of the whole year...no ifs, ands, or buts.  I mentioned my dislike of this wretched month last year here, and I'm feeling it again today.  February is supposed to be about romance, love, flowers, chocolates, and some of my favorite colors...pinks and reds.  But somehow for us that's never the case.

Today little Max woke up looking totally red and festive.  Take a peek at my poor baby:
Max had a slight allergic reaction to some amoxicillin that he's been taking this week.  Why was he taking amoxicillin?  Oh, did I forget to mention that he and Sam have had ear infections this week?  Somehow it slipped my mind.

Please March...come quickly!

p.s. He looks horrible but is in no way contagious!
