A boy and his blankets

Jake never took a binky.
He never sucked his thumb.
But boy does he love him some blankets.
These white muslin ones are his faves.
He's suddenly realized that many blankets are way better than just one.
He insists on carrying them ALL, sleeping with them ALL, etc.
It's adorable really.
He trips all over them and can get really frustrated when he can't get all six in his little hands just how he'd like.

Oh, I love this baby!

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning.
It looks beautiful, but darnit, I am ready for spring!

The boys played outside for a long time and loved it.

And I had to snap a quick picture of the latest tradition at our house.
Eric usually brings home a treat of some sort from the hospital, and the boys get so excited.
He walks in the door and announces, "Open your mouth and close your eyes!"
All of them are quick to obey and wait for a bite of some surprise.

Eric is such a fun dad.

Rhythm

We headed downtown this morning with Max's preschool group for a fieldtrip.
The Rhythm Discover Center was our destination and it was fun!

Most of the little girls were nervous at first.  The giant drums and huge gongs scared them a bit, but thankfully they all warmed up and weren't completely terrified!

My good friend, Alisha, came with me and helped corral all of the kids.
We had six preschoolers plus our two youngest ones.

I really, really regret not getting a picture of me and Alisha with all of the kids.  We were quite the sight to see wandering around downtown.
People kept asking us if all of the kids were just ours.

 Max loved it!

It was a fun morning, but I'm exhausted!

The boys really want a puppy.
I do too...just not now.
So, to compromise we got some fish.
Sadly, we've gone through several since we first got them at Christmas.

This little white one is the only one left.  We've had him since the start and he won't die.
He's tough.  He even plays dead some days and will lay motionless at the bottom, but wake up the next day swimming around and acting starving.

The boys like him and so far he's been waaay easier than a puppy.

Sunday dinner always tastes gourmet when you add a couple of candlesticks.

I love all these boys!

Saturday

This cold weather has had us a little stir crazy.
We decided we needed an outing today.
Eric dug through our coupon pile and we settled on the bowling alley.

Max had never bowled before and he loved it.  I've never seen a bowling ball roll as slowly as Max's did every time he was up!  He did great.

Sam did great, too, but his competitive side got the best of him.  He was so frustrated that he wasn't getting strikes and spares (like he does on Wii Sports!)  He shed a few tears and vowed to never go bowling again.

He's a perfectionist, that Sam of mine.
Where did he get that from?

It was a great to spend a Saturday afternoon together!

I always leave our children's museum thinking, "We need to come here more!"
It is amazing.  Amazing.

We spent the whole afternoon there today with some friends and it was perfect.
Sam and Max love all of the costumes; and really got into the dress-ups today.
They flew around as birds, bees and butterflies for well over an hour.

And Jake has officially entered the train obsession phase.

It's always fun to get a glimpse of my boys' imaginations.  They are so creative and smart.
