Some summer highlights

For me, it's impossible to keep up on everything that I'd like to especially during the summer time.  Life just gets too busy.  We have been having a great summer!  We only have 3 weeks left though!  I can't believe it.  Here are a few highlights...

- Field trips with friends! My friend, Cassidy, and I have tried to plan some fun outings for our kids.  We visited a nature park in June and the kids had a blast hiking, playing in the creek, and running around like crazy.

-Strawberry Picking!  Another field trip.  Sam did most of the picking this year.  Max and Jake focused on eating.  We walked away with 9 pounds of berries...but I'm sure the boys ate at least that many while we were there!

-No Schedule!  I love that in the summer time we can have slow mornings.  It's been a really strange summer when it comes to weather.  We've had lots of rain and not a lot of sunshine.  Everything is so beautifully green.  And I have not missed the 100 degree days with 100% humidity, but we have missed not being at the pool as much.  We've still had fun though and I'm thankful everyday for our backyard.  The boys love it.

-Wimpy Kid!  Sam has loved reading this summer.  He's been staying up waaaaay late with a headlamp on and a book in hand.  He just finished the last book of the Wimpy Kid series.  He loved them and giggled constantly while reading them.  He's adorable and growing up so fast.  I can't believe he'll be in 1st grade in 3 weeks.

-Father's Day!  We celebrated Fathers Day with a fun BBQ with friends.  Avon, Indiana is full of amazing people.  I really feel so lucky to have ended up in such a great little spot.  Our awesome friends, the Armstrongs, had the kids do 3-legged races with their dads.  Eric, as always, was super competitive.  Sam and Max loved it.

I love watching Eric be a dad.  He loves his role as a father and takes it seriously.  I feel blessed that my sweet boys have such a great example in their lives.

-Football!  Sam finished up his first season of flag football.  He loved it!

 Life is good!
