1- How do you explain to a 2-year old that he must wear his shoes outside in 30 degree, windy Ohio weather without him breaking down and waking up neighbors as you drag him into your apartment building and down the hall?
2- How do you politely explain to a 2-year that he cannot bathe and sleep in his button-down church shirt without eventually giving in and peeling the shirt off of him the next morning?

3- How do you make a 2-year old eat his dinner without making Dad crawl under the table to catch him in his attempt to escape another apparently disgusting meal made by Mom? (fyi...don't make him sit at the table until he decides to try just one bite because he'll sit there and sit there... for well over 45 minutes)

4- And most importantly, how do you NOT laugh when situations such as these arise?
*We are quickly learning that two year-olds are hilarious, emotional, fun, sweet, tender-hearted, and exhausting!

Well...I think you are doing the right thing...you've got to have a sense of humor...and just laugh! I still think he is perfect! xo
I have to laugh how similar experiences we have. Matthew last night threw a huge fit about getting his very similar looking to Sam's church shirt off before bed. These 2 year olds are very funny. It is good to laugh or else we would go crazy sometimes. Also, Max is adorable!
I'm so excited to hear that these boys get MORE stubborn! what am I going to do with a stubborn zeb and a newborn?! let's hope you get it all figured out in seven week and can tell me the secrets :)
I am so happy to hear that someone else can relate! That sounds exactly like Bo! You sound like you definitely have it together though!
oh your boys are too too cute!!!
ha ha ha. number 4 is the one we always have the most problems with..trying to keep a straight face and hold your ground when really you are totally cracking up inside wondering where 2-year-olds come up with this stuff!
those are two pretty cute boys you've got there! :)
IF you find the answers to those questions, let me know. We have the same questions. And the laughing part is definately prevalent in our house, our favorite is when Tate tries to be naghty and say bad words but he says them wrong. Like "BE SHut! for "Shut up" Aren't two year olds great!! Your boys are so cute by the way!
YES keep a sence of humor and remember there is no reasoning with a two year old. Sometimes you have to pull the old "cause I said so" and "I didn't ask what you wanted" card and sometimes you let them go hungry, take a bath in an oxford shirt, and drag them screaming down the hall. They'll live and so will you. Have fun and every day that you and them are still alive is good. Luckily sanity is not a requirement.
