Monday.

Just thought I'd share some highlights and lowlights from my Monday.

1) After leaving the grocery store, I looked at myself in my rearview mirror to find that my teeth looked something like this:

Shame on all of you who saw me, talked to me, and then most likely giggled at me at Meijer today. (Please people, when some poor soul has food in their teeth, TELL THEM!)

2) We got to enjoy the blossoms which are exploding off of the trees! I loved being outside with friends today. May is by far the best time to visit Ohio.

3) I called my mom in tears for some parenting advice. One of her tips included gulping down one of these:

I heeded her directions, and it worked! :)

4) After feeling like an impatient and hopeless mother, I had a sweet, old lady at the store brighten my day. She walked over with a smile and stated she wanted to admire my cute boys, who were being extremely well-behaved at the moment. She looked at me and said, "Oh honey, you must be doing something right. Look at 'em...just look at 'em!" She then shook Sam's hand and pinched Max's cheek.

I so needed to hear that today. Thanks sweet, old lady. Thanks.

I love the pictures as usual... I guess the Diet Coke factor can cure anything for anyone right?

That is good sitting up by Max. Your boys always seem perfect to me--but they are 1500 miles away.

I agree with sweet old lady ;)

So glad that sweet lady could brighten your day. It only would have been better if she had also told you about the food in your teeth!!
And maybe I will need to use the Diet Coke tip sometime, too!

I need a sweet old lady telling me I'm doing a good job...my baby has an ugly rash all over his face and now he has a cold and coughing all over the place. :(

We've all had the food in the teeth/diet coke kinds of days. I would recommend keeping a supply of the good stuff close by for just these sorts of emergencies.
At least your zipper wasn't down, right? And maybe the way you smiled concealed the problem...so no one actually noticed.

I always tell people when there is something in their teeth...or a boogie hanging from their nose...whatever. Maybe I'm too honest! I am so glad for sweet old ladies, too! xoxo

Lindsay- you have wonderful children! getting away from them for awhile does the trick sometimes too. I went to the grocery store all by myself last night for the first time-and it was great. I came home feeling much better about being their mother :)

I agree with Leisy it is AMAZING what a little break from the kiddos can do for your moral. Don't you love when people are kind at the store. We need more people like that instead of those that give you that look or even comment in a not so nice way.
