Sam has been looking forward to his birthday for weeks. He was up until 11 o'clock last night asking how many hours until he would finally turn four. He then got up bright and early this morning (4:30 am to be exact!), ran to our bedroom and whispered, "Mom, did you know I'm 4 now?!" It was big day for him, and I think it turned out perfectly.
We celebrated in true "Sam Style" with a WHALE party...and 9 crazy little boys!
The pinata was a huge hit (no pun intended) and the water balloons were a close second. Sam had a little meltdown during "Pin the Tail on the Whale" because he didn't come out the winner. But as the saying goes "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!!" Thankfully, he recovered quickly and the rest of the afternoon went on as expected...a little chaotic but totally fun.

Sam is a gem. He is my buddy and I love being around him. He has such a tender heart and is so thoughtful and sweet to me. I have loved these past 4 years. Sam and I have done a lot of growing and changing together, and I'm so thankful that he's been so patient with me as I continue to get this whole "Mom" thing figured out.
Happy 4th Birthday, Sweet Sam! You are one of my absolute favorites.

Happy birthday Sam! And way to go Lindsay with hosting 9 boys. That must have been quite the hand full. The cake looks great!
So, I'm hoping that Sam is sleeping in this morning so that you can enjoy that new bed of yours a little bit longer!
I'm gonna compliment you again on your whale cake, Cake Boss.

"I told my cousin Vinny to get out the modeling chocolate for the killer whale cake, while Joey and me started shaping the fondant."
Imagine that in a New Jersey accent.
Seriously, that cake rocks.
And that looked like the best four year old birthday party ever.
Grant had a fantastic time. And the theme couldn't have been better! Great decorations, games and cake. Hope you got some rest after 9 boys for 2 hours straight. It makes me tired just thinking about it.
So fun! Andrew wants to invite Sam and Matthew to his party even though they live far, far away to drive. He's convinced they could do it just this once. Miss you guys!
Tayson had such a great time at Sam's party! Thank you again for inviting him.
