Is it weird that I feel emotional about us selling Eric's car this week? Yes, this little beauty, the Road Runner herself.
She was a hardworking little thing with over 233,000 miles on her engine. She was tough and had the scars and battle wounds to prove it.
So what if her A/C didn't work and her upholstery was ripped and torn. So what if you had to roll down her windows to open the doors because the inside door handles were broken. The Road Runner had character.
She was dependable (for the most part) and got Eric around Provo, Toledo, and Indianapolis for the last 9 years. She was patient with me while I learned to drive her manual transmission and stalled her at least 10,000 times.
The Road Runner was an integral part of mine and Eric's dating days. Just the smell of that car could take me back to our first date, our conversations of marriage, or even Eric getting pulled over for speeding. I loved that little car. Sam and Max grew to love her, too. They called her Daddy's race car. They didn't even notice her blemishes, but instead loved her 'fancy' sunroof and that fact that she only had two doors and automatic seat belts.
But I guess it's on to bigger and better things these days. We're van people now. I never, ever, ever in a million years wanted a van, but I have a confession...I absolutely love it. I'm officially a mom.

Yeah for Vans!! I know it's hard to let your old cars go. I'll make sure Josh re-reads how much you love the van.
I know just how you feel! I was sad to see Justin's little car go. He told me he loved me for the first time in that car! So what will Eric be driving now? You must post!
I think this is a post we all can relate to! I will always miss my orange volkswagon...SLUG BUG!!! xo
I'm dying to know how much money you're getting for the race car!! :)
Congrats on the van!!!! What a big step.
Welcome to the van club. Getting one was the best thing we did as our family was growing. I think you will love it and so will the kids.
I hope that Road Runner goes to a good family that will take care of it and love it as much as you have! ;)
ooh, how exciting! enjoy :)
You still have that car, hahaha that's hilarious! I remember how proud Eric was of that car. I bet he's going to be a bit sad seeing it go!
