Happy New Year!

My list of goals seems to grow by the minute and I keep trying to remind myself to start small. 

"Set achievable goals, Lindsay.  Don't go crazy!"

But I am a list maker and mostly a 'list crossing off lover', so it's hard to contain my new year's resolutions.

 

Photography is always on my list of things to improve.

I want to learn to use my camera.  I want to take more pictures and be more creative.

And personally, I think I've got some of the cutest photography subjects right at my fingertips, so I am going to take more and (hopefully!) better photographs this year!

 

Starting today.

 

Eric took Sam and Max out sledding this afternoon.

I envisioned myself capturing some great photos of them waddling around in their fluffy snowsuits; giggling as they slid down the hill.

 

Jake and I pulled up at the sledding hill to take a few pictures, only to find this sad face:

 

 

My poor Sam took a hard, fast fall on his new sled.

So, bloody nose and tears were what we captured today.

Not exactly what I had imagined, but such is life.

 

As a mom of 3 boys, I'm afraid photos like this will be all too common.

 

Here's to 2013...

I can't wait.
